Pa-Shun Hawkins is a PhD student at The Institute of the Environment and Sustainability at the University of California, Los Angeles. She focuses on developing protocols for extracting environmental DNA from the coral skeletons and mollusk shells, and has an interest in using ancient DNA to explore historical ecosystems and socioecological questions.
